Open Enrollment Period begins
Please be aware that you have to reapply each school year.
If you are interested in having your student attend a school other than your attendance area school next year, the District’s Open Enrollment/Choice policy allows for open enrollment requests to be considered on a limited basis for the next school year. Transportation of students participating in open enrollment is the responsibility of the parents/guardians.
All the materials required to apply for Open Enrollment are posted on the Web site. Click on the link in the next paragraph. Your Application for Open Enrollment/Choice must be received by the school you wish your student to attend no later than Friday, February 19, 2010. Principals will make a decision on the application request in March 2010.

The following is a summary of the City’s Supplemental Pipe Line schedule for the next couple of weeks.
January 18 – January 28: Peoria Street closed to through traffic
The installation of a 24” water main from 120th Avenue north on Peoria to 124th Avenue will begin on Monday, January 18th and will take approximately two weeks to complete. Asphalt paving will be done at a later date based on temperatures and asphalt availability.
January 29 – February 3: 124th Avenue between Peoria and Highway 85 closed to one lane of traffic
Peoria Street will be open. The installation of 24” water main from Peoria Street to just east of Highway 85 will begin around January 29th and will take about 4 business days to finish. There will be extra flaggers out during pick-up and drop-off times at the elementary school. Asphalt paving will be done at a later date based on temperatures and asphalt availability.
There will also be construction happening at the intersection of Highway 85 and 124th Avenue in a few weeks; however, it is mainly shoulder work. Work will also be going on starting from the South Platte River west on Henderson Road. I will keep you updated as we get closer to construction that will impact traffic. We will be putting up message boards to let commuters know of the construction as well.
Please keep in mind that these are the contractor’s best estimate but that it may change due to weather or other events outside of our control. If you have any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to call or e-mail. My information is below. You may also contact the contractor, Northern Colorado Constructors, Will Vickers, Project Manager at (303) 857-1754 or Randy Montognese, Superintendent at (970) 339-3279. You may also give this contact information to concerned parents/citizens.
Thanks for your patience and understanding!

Dear parent:
We need you to physically be in the office (no phone calls) to pull a child from academic time. We have found that children are waiting in the office for parents to arrive. We will get your student out of class as soon as you have come in to the office to sign them out. Thank you!
