MUST READ-Assessment Days
Dear Families,
Beginning with the 2010-2011 school year, District 27J has adopted four elementary assessment days. The purpose of these days is to allow our teachers to gather data on students and get them instruction appropriate for their level as soon as possible. Students will be assessed on reading, writing and math abilities. The adopted school days are August 12 and 13, 2010 and January 3 and 4, 2011.
Students grades first through fifth at Henderson Elementary will be assessed according to the following schedule:

Kindergarten will still have their normal sign up assessment times due to their later start date.
The assessment days are considered student contact days and normal attendance policies and procedures apply. Students should arrive five minutes prior to their testing time and be picked up at the end of the testing time. Supervision for students arriving before their time and/or staying after is not provided. Daycare, lunch and bus transportation will not be available for the assessment days.

We will also be happy to answer any question at Back To School night on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 from 5:30-7:30. More information will be coming in July.
